A short template of a formal tenant letter on unilateral early termination of a lease (comunicazione di recesso dal contratto di locazione). The distinctive part is the motivation: the tenant cannot register residenza at the address because the Questura delays issuing the permesso di soggiorno, that is, for reasons beyond his control. This wording (per cause indipendenti dalla mia volonta) is useful in possible disputes with the owner. The template cites the contract clause on termination with the required notice period (six months of preavviso in the sample - yours may differ), names the move-out date, offers to agree on the handover procedure and carries the signature block: name, codice fiscale, phone, place and date. How to use it
Check the recesso clause and the preavviso period in your own contract and put them into the template instead of the sample values. Send it to the owner by registered mail (raccomandata A/R) and keep the receipt: the notice period runs from delivery. Use the permesso delay wording only if it matches your situation.
